Nonrefundable Renter's Credit is a personal income tax credit that can only be used to offset your tax liability; therefore, you must have a tax liability to claim the credit. +You qualify for the Nonrefundable Renter's Credit if you meet all the following: +You were a California resident in 2012. +Your California adjusted gross income (AGI) is $35,659 or less if your filing status is single or married/registered domestic partner filing a separate return; or $71,318 or less if you are married/registered domestic partner filing jointly, head of household, or qualified widow(er). +You paid rent for at least half of 2012 for property in California that was your principal residence. +You did not live with another person for more than half the year (such as a parent) who claimed you as a dependent in 2012. +You are not a minor living with and under the care of a parent, foster parent, or legal guardian. +You rented property for more than half the year that was not exempt from California property tax in 2012. +If you are married, neither you nor your spouse/registered domestic partner was granted a homeowner's property tax exemption during 2012. (You can still qualify for the credit, even though your spouse/registered domestic partner claimed a homeowner's exemption, as long as each of you maintained a separate residence for the entire year in 2012). If you meet the requirements above the credit is: +Single, $60 +Head of Household or widow(er), $120 +Married/registered domestic partner filing separately, $60 +Married/registered domestic partner filing jointly, $120 |

Glass: Mix 1/4 cup vinegar with 1 quart of water in a spray bottle. Spray on glass and wipe clean with old newspaper or a lint-free cloth.Countertops and Bathroom Tile: Mix 2 parts vinegar and 1 part baking soda with 4 parts water. Apply with a sponge, scour, and wipe away.
Floors: Mix 4 cups of white distilled vinegar with about a gallon of hot water. If desired, add a few drops of pure peppermint or lemon oil for a pleasant scent. After damp mopping the floors, the smell of vinegar will dissipate quickly, leaving behind only the scent of the oil.
Wood Furniture: Mix equal parts of lemon juice and olive and oil. Apply a small amount to a cloth, and rub onto the furniture in long, even strokes.
Toilet Bowl Cleaner: Sprinkle a toilet brush with baking soda and scrub away! Occasionally disinfect your toilet by scrubbing with borax instead. Wipe the outside of the toilet clean with straight vinegar.
Disinfectant: Mix 2 teaspoons borax, 4 tablespoons vinegar, 3 cups hot water, and 1/4 teaspoon liquid castile soap. Wipe on with dampened cloth or use a spray bottle. Wipe clean.
Mold and mildew: Wipe with straight vinegar.
Air freshener: Sprinkle essential oil on a cotton ball, and stash it in a corner of the room. If you have kids, make sure it is out of their reach as essential oils are very strong and could irritate their skin. Lavender is a relaxing scent that is great for bedrooms, and cinnamon, clove, and citrus oils are great for the rest of the house. You can stash a few in the car too—try peppermint, which may help you to stay alert. |

It’s often small decisions – a candle left burning, a dry Christmas tree or child left alone even for a moment – that could have life-changing consequences. When it comes to holiday dangers, the numbers are more startling than you might think: Each year, fires occurring during the holiday season claim the lives of more than 400 Americans, and injure 1,650 more.
Candle-related fires are one of the most common holiday home hazards, averaging more than 12,000 each year, resulting in 136 deaths, and more than 1,000 injuries.
About 5,800 people – two to three every hour – were treated in emergency departments for fall-related injuries sustained while decorating during the holiday seasons.
Christmas trees, both natural and artificial, were the item first ignited in an estimated average of 240 reported home structure fires per year. These fires caused an estimated average of 13 civilian deaths and 27 civilian injuries.
By taking simple steps, we have an opportunity to help change these statistics together. Committing a minute to safety can be as quick and easy as testing your smoke alarm, taking pillows out of the crib or simply using a cabinet lock. Imagine if we all committed just one minute to safety every day? Thousands, perhaps millions, of injuries could be avoided. Today we have a powerful opportunity to raise a safer generation of children, and it can all start by committing just one minute to safety. |

ApartmentRatings maintains a database of tenant-generated reviews of apartment buildings. According to the site’s homepage, the site currently contains more than 1,200,000 reviews of apartments and apartment complexes. In addition to reviews, the site features a database of building features, user ratings, and a database of tenant-reported average rental prices called "What the Neighbors Pay."
The site also has a Google Maps-based registered sex offender database, and a question-and-answer feature that allows apartment hunters to ask questions about particular apartment buildings they are interested in, and have their questions answered by apartment renters currently living in the building in question.

For the disposal of large items: -Please contact CR & R, the company that handles waste management for the city of Bellflower, at (877) 944-4716 and let them know you are disposing of a large item so they can take care of it. -If you do not contact CR&R first, the city may red tag your item and you will be responsible for the associated fees. -If you need to discard large boxes, please remember to flatten them out before placing them in the designated trash disposal area. We would like to remind everyone of our use and care of the garbage disposal. With the Holiday Season coming up, you may be cooking more than usual. The following are ways to not clog your disposal and keep costs down. Always run the water 2-3 seconds before using the water from your faucet. Always use cold water when grinding your disposal.
Grind only small amounts of food. The disposal is not made to grind large amounts of food at one time.
DO NOT put the following in your disposal at any time: rice, pasta, onion skins, celery stalks, artichoke parts, bones, banana skins, corn cobs, potato skins or grease. In addition, watch for vegetable ties, plastic wrap holders, caps or other objects that may get into the disposal. Should you have a stoppage, and we find any of the above items, you will be charged for the stoppage repair or replacement.
All citrus skins are very good for your disposal if they are cut into small pieces. They help keep it fresh and clean.
Use your disposal regularly or it will rust out and have to be replaced.
Do not use any chemical drain clearing products as they will damage the pipes. Also, this is a hazard to our maintenance staff and they cannot work on the clog once these products have been put down the drain. Also, please regularly check to see that your oven is in proper, working condition. If you notice any issues with your oven, please notify your Resident Manager as soon as possible to ensure that it is in working order for Holiday cooking. If you have any questions regarding this reminder, please contact your On-Site Resident Manager. |
